Proverbs 14:27: The fear of the LORD is a fountain of life, that one may turn away from the snares of death.
This verse leaped out at me as I was reading this morning. “Fear of the Lord” reverent respect for Him. Seeing Him as He truly is. When we have this “fear” of God…He will be the top priority in our life and our constant focus will be on Him. That attitude will keep us from “the snares of death.” We must realise that our lives can face “death” in many ways – physical death, emotional death, death of relationships or reputations, death of our hopes, and inner wellbeing etc.
THE POINT?
When our focus is on the God that we truly revere, and when we make honouring Him our top priority, we will be spared from the “snares of death.” And when our physical death does come…that will not be to us a “snare” but the door which takes us to our wonderful Father God!
