Here’s agreat devo that really helps us understand the TRUST and OBEY principle we’vebeen studying on Sunday Mornings. This really helps us see how Trust (God) andObey (God) are inseparable!
Today'sTurning Point with Dr. David Jeremiah - Walking With God - AUGUST 21, 2018
Enochwalked with God. Genesis 5:24
RecommendedReading: Genesis 5:21-24
What doesit mean to walk with God? There’s a clue in Hebrews 11:5: “By faith Enoch wastaken away so that he did not see death, ‘and was not found, because God hadtaken him’; for before he was taken he had this testimony, that he pleasedGod.”
To walkwith God is to please God; and we please God by trusting Him with our troubles.Hebrews 11:6 says, “But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for hewho comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of thosewho diligently seek Him.”
As weworship this powerful God we know, we should be encouraged in our walk withHim. We should come to know God better—His omnipotence, His holiness, Hisever-present nature, His faithfulness and truthfulness, His justice and love.By coming to know Him better, we trust Him more. By trusting Him more, weplease Him. By pleasing Him, we walk with Him as Enoch did.
Is there aburden you need to entrust into God’s care? Do it now, trust Him fully, andenjoy walking with Him through the ups and downs of life.
Day by day, morning by morning, begin your walk with Him in the calm trust that God is atwork in everything. Anne Ortlund
